HYUNDAI’S H1 has had an upgrade that is likely to keep it dominating its market.
The whole nose section of the front of the H1 has been redesigned and this gives the nine-seater bus and its panel van sibling a modern look that fits in with the appearance and style of the passenger car and SUV range but without an increase in price!
New 17-inch alloy wheels add to the good looks of the 2,5 Executive and Elite while the addition of an infotainment centre, with a large touch-screen display, increases the inside luxury and comfort features available in both versions of the bus.
Projection-style headlights have been added too. These headlights not only illuminate the road ahead more effectively but also add to the attractiveness of the newly designed front of the H1.
Existing features that make the H1 2,5 turbodiesel bus an ideal family or touring vehicle include:
- A Bluetooth connection for the infotainment system’s sound system.
The sound system can be controlled by the multifunction controls built onto the steering wheel.
- Cruise control is also adjusted by controls on the steering wheel.
- The full automatic air conditioner comes with climate control.
- It has a cooling glove box.
- For safety there’s a side airbag.
- It has electric operated folding side mirrors
- An electronic stability driver-assist programme improves drive safety.
- A height and reach-adjustable steering wheel adds to the H1’s driving comfort.
- The panel van also gets 16-inch steel wheel rims.
- The range-topping H1 2,5 Elite Bus gets a park-assist rear camera with a display in the rear-view mirror.
The H1 9 bus and panel van has long been one of the most popular vehicles in the Hyundai line-up.
The range works as a family vehicle as well as for commercial use for businesses that require a vehicle to safely transport many people in luxurious comfort.
“The H1 has never really aged or changed since we launched it in 2009 but the new makeover has really given it a modern look.
“The bold exterior is aimed at attracting many more buyers in this market,” said Stanley Anderson, sales director of Hyundai Automotive South Africa.
“The fact that we have sold 14 424 H1 buses and 2 272 panel vans since the 2009 launch proves the popularity of this vehicle model.”
The refreshed H1 bus is still available with two different engines:
- A 2 359cc petrol engine fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox that delivers power to the rear wheel drive system.
- A 2 497cc turbocharged diesel engine fitted with a five-speed automatic gearbox that delivers power to the rear wheel drive system.
When driven, the H1 handles like a car on the road. Its road-holding inspires confidence in its drivers and passengers.
The H1 bus’s park-assist rear view camera makes it so much easier to park.
