THE facelifted Mazda2 now features a more sophisticated design.
It has the latest tech and better safety equipment.
And the best part is that South Africans can now participate in the buying frenzy of this zippy car that has gripped the world’s imagination.
Still spotting the capable 1,5-litre petrol engine in both manual and automatic transmissions, the latest Mazda2 range will consist of six derivatives.
These include the Active (entry spec), Dynamic (mid spec) and the Individual and Hazumi (high spec) models.
Inside, there are new materials and colour schemes that give it an upmarket appearance.
Comfort and convenience on-board have been improved too, thanks to the Bluetooth hands-free system across the range.
The Mazda2 also has an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), for smoother vehicle movements and handling.
A new front-seat design offers ideal occupant posture to minimise fatigue.
Design changes are minimal, but some models feature front and rear chrome bumper strips and a new shark fin antenna. There are also new alloy wheel designs.
An expanded range of advanced safety features now includes LED headlamps fitted as standard across the range. Side and curtain airbags and an auto dimming rear-view mirror are now standard from the Dynamic model upwards.
All Mazda2’s come standard with a three-year unlimited kilometre service plan and a three-year factory warranty.
