Mitsubishi has unveiled another updated vehicle, the ASX compact SUV.
The new ASX is due to officially break cover at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. This popular car, since its original launch in 2009, has sold more than 1,32 million units worldwide.
It’s had a number of facelifts but this ASX has had the most radical change to date. The basic shape and size is the same but it features a redesigned front that gives the ASX a tougher but sexier appearance.
The bumper develops the central protective shape that includes both sides, the horizontal and vertical lines of the grille and the skid plate under the bumper.
The bonnet is deeper, which adds style to its appearance. The LED lights are laid out so the indicators and foglamps sit at the ends of the bumper. The Mitsubishi brand logo sits at the front.
At the rear, there are new LED lights as well as a new bumper and skid plate.
On the inside, the biggest improvement is the new multimedia system with a display that controls the latest features such as real-time traffic updates and more.
The new ASX is expected to use the current 16-valve, 2,0-litre engine fitted with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT featuring a six-speed sports mode.
It is expected that Mitsubishi South Africa will only replace the older ASX with the latest version towards the end of the year.
