WESTERN Province rugby player Seabelo Senatla has joined Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles as its new brand ambassador.

Senatla from Free State, who plays for the Stormers in PRO14 and Western Province in the Currie Cup, has joined current brand ambassadors rally legend Sarel van der Merwe and 4x4 specialist and TV presenter, André de Villiers.

The rugby player is also a philanthropist, entrepreneur and winemaker.

He was awarded the World Sevens Player of the Year and South African Sevens Player of the Year in 2016. He also holds the record for the most tries for the South African Sevens team (224).

“Senatla fits perfectly with the Amarok’s brand motto of ‘know your power’. He embodies the Amarok’s traits of speed, strength, intelligence, character and power. We are proud to welcome him to the Volkswagen family,” said head of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand, Mark Handley.

“Key to this partnership is sharing Senatla’s inspiring personal stories of his confident power to succeed in many roles. The partnership will also see him driving our top-of-the-range Amarok 190kW 3.0 V6 TDI.”

Senatla has signed a three-year partnership with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. The Amarok model range, that has been in the local market for over a decade, now consists of the 2.0 BiTDI 132kW and 3.0 V6 TDI 190kW engines.
