Information for passengers on Rea Vaya services is now available on Google Maps.

This means people in Joburg can use Google Maps to get information on Rea Vaya bus routes, bus stops and stations as well as the bus times.

To find out how to access your public transport journey with Rea Vaya, use your internet browser and go to Google Maps or use your smartphone to access the Google Map app, and choose the public transport option.

“Adding Rea Vaya services to Google Maps is another step taken by Joburg to become a smart city,” said member of the mayoral committee for transport, Councillor Nonhlanhla Makhuba.

Google Maps offers commuters many different public transport options.

“This will also be a great help for tourists who are used to using public transport in other cities around the world.”

Residents and passengers can still continue to use the VayaMoja app to plan their journey. Download the VayaMoja app from your app store for free and get information on Metrobus and Rea Vaya bus times, routes and the costs of fares.

You can also visit the Rea Vaya website at www.reavaya.org.za or Facebook/ReaVayabusTransit as well as follow @ReaVayaBus on Twitter.
