SUNWHEELS comes across many vehicles but when we come across something special, we have to make a fuss about it.
And one such vehicle is Kia’s entry-level turbodiesel Sportage. It was added to the line-up at the end of last year.
The Sportage’s Ignite Plus CRDI version is available with a six-speed manual gearbox and a 1,7-litre turbodiesel powertrain, but what is especially good news – for this Sportage – is that none of its competitors offers a competitively priced entry-level diesel model.
The Sportage comes with features such as alloy wheels, fog lights, rear park distance control, a radio with Bluetooth functionality, USB and auxiliary connections, and electric windows, to name just a few.
It has many of the latest must-have safety features too.
The interior and boot space is excellent with a solid looking fit and finish.
Its 1,7-litre CRDI engine is fantastic – it is the perfect match for an SUV the size of the Sportage, as it never struggles and delivers all the power when needed.
What’s more, the engine is smooth and fuel economy is good too – it has a claimed average consumption figure of just 4,9 litres every 100km.
The Sportage is a sensible buy and in the 1,7 DCRi guise, it doesn’t have any real direct competition.
It is really difficult to fault the Sportage because it looks as if Kia has ticked all the boxes when designing this beauty.
