A day after pictures of the new BMW X6 were leaked on the internet, BMW officially unveiled the new brute in its full glory.

In these officials HD pictures, the lines are crisper and clearer, one can truly appreciate the design of the new car.

Yes, it looks a lot like a facelift but that is not necessarily a bad thing. With the launch of the second generation X6, BMW got the dimensions spot on.

So, one would understand why they wouldn't want to mess a lot with the dimensions on the third generation.

The new car is only 26mm longer than the previous model at 4,935 mm and 15mm wider at 2,004 mm and now sits 6mm lower.

The wheelbase too has grown to 2,975mm from 2933mm.

The changes which are easier to spot make the new X6 look more masculine and a brute.

Upfront, we see that new optionally illuminated grille. The grille is big like in the X5 and X7 but what makes it look good is how the outer edges of the kidney grille approach the headlights at a clearly defined angle like in the 8-series.

If you get that illuminated grille you can choose to have it on when opening and closing the car or when driving so you can get us peasants off your way.

The new headlights are slimmer and have now the option of the BMW Laserlight with Adaptive LED headlights. And the rear lights are wider and slimmer accentuating the lines further.

Inside the new X6 adopts the old car's thing of just getting the same dash as the X5.

So, there's BMW Live Cockpit Professional, a 12.3-inch high-resolution instrument cluster and 12.3inch touchscreen infotainment screen with BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant which can control a lot of the car's functions using the "Hey BMW" prompt.
