HOT on the heels of the launch of the new Corolla sedan, Toyota has bolstered the spec levels of its hatch sibling.
When the car maker launched the Corolla hatch last year, it was praised for its sporty design and modern features.
Now for this year, Toyota is giving all three variants in the line-up extra kit plus a better safety package. All three models (Xs, Xs CVT and Xr) come with a wireless charger for smartphones.
The flagship Xr grade is the next candidate to receive the Toyota Safety Sense. This all-encompassing active safety suite comprises a pre-crash system, blind spot monitor, lane trace assist and all-speed cruise control.
Also on the Xr model, the LED headlamps have also been upgraded to include Auto High Beam.
Bi-tone colour options have been added to the colour palette (Pearl White, Satin Silver, Emotional Red and Caribbean Blue, with a black roof). That will definitely boost the Corolla hatch’s street cred.
The mechanics include the proven 1.2L turbocharged engine that delivers 85kW and 185Nm. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual or 10-speed CVT (auto) gearbox.
All Corolla Hatch models are sold with a six-year/90 000km service plan, and a three-year/100 000km warranty.
