MEET Mo-Afrika (real name Molefi Meko) from Pimville, in Soweto, talked to us about his amazing 2009 model BMW R1 200 RT.

Q: When did you buy your bike?

A: In 2016.

Q: Is it your first?

A: Yes, it is my first bike.

Q: When did you start biking?

A: When I bought my bike in 2016. It was a good experience learning how to ride back then.

Q: Can you tell us about your first ride?

A: It was tricky and exciting at the same time. But we never learn until we try.

No one was born a rider so I always told myself that one day I’ll be a good rider like many we see on the road.

Q: Why did you choose this bike among any other bike on display?

A: The big engine and the beauty of the bike attracted me to buy it.

Q: How often do you ride?

A: I ride all the time.

Q: Where have you travelled?

A: I’ve been travelling a lot around Gauteng. But the most far off places I’ve been to include Cape Town, eSwatini, KZN, Kuruman, Kimberly, Polowane and God’s window in Mpumalanga.

Q: Tell us about your outfit?

A: It’s very important to own one. It protects you in case you fall.

Q: What colour is your bike?

A: It’s silver.

Q: Is there something you’d like to change on your bike?

A: Nothing at all. Maybe, as time goes on I’ll think of something. But right now it’s still standard.

Q: How often do you get fines?

A: I have no tickets.

I’m cautious while on the road.

Q: Do you belong to a club?

A: Yes, Soweto Panthers.
