Mitsubishi’s new ASX is coming to a showroom near you this month.

The up dated ASX boasts a strik ing new front end, an improved styling inside and out, enhanced interior and mechanics.

Mitsubishi first introduced the ASX in Mzansi in September 2011 and it’s been a popular choice among those seeking a reliable compact SUV.

The ASX makes its presence felt with its newly designed nose that includes a new bonnet, LED headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), including LED fog lamps with integrated turning signals, a redesigned radiator grille and brand-new front bumper face.

In the rear, the new ASX gets a new lighting package that includes LED brake lights, tail lights, reverse lights and integrated turning signals in the one-piece cluster.

Seen from the side, the new 2020 model boasts new 18-inch alloy wheels.

The enhanced interior includes a variety of new features in the centre of the front console housing cabin controls, a new infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality.

Furthermore, the ASX has a new grain for the black leather upholstery throughout.

The extended list of features includes a panoramic sunroof, electric power steering, a multi-function leather steering wheel, fully automatic air-conditioning and electric windows front and rear.

The 2,0L engine has also been tweaked and now develops 110kW at 6 000r/min and 197Nm at 4 200r/min.

It comes in manual or auto derivatives.

The ASX is covered by a three-year/100 000km warranty and a five-year/90 000km service plan.
