Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the EQV an all-electric version of the V-Class. Now politicians and celebrities will have an eco-friendly way to haul their friends over to the Durban July next year.
The EQV's electric powertrain has a range of around 405 km. The 90-kWh battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just under an hour using a rapid charger. It feeds an electric motor producing 150-kW and 362-Nm of torque.
It is good for a range of 405-km. Public rapid charging stations are a bit scarce in Mzansi you might need to arrange a stop at a friends place for your trip to Durban. Charging at a conventional wall socket will take about 10 hours. So unless your friend has one of those rapid chargers boxes installed you and your 8 pals or family will need to find a hotel or arrange for a sleepover to get the car fully charged up.
The EQV gets air-suspension as standard and all the goodies that politicians and celebs love like a 10-inch media display, MBUX which offers voice control using the keyword "Hey Mercedes" and those leather-trimmed captain seats.
