Volkswagen has chopped the roof off its baby SUV, the T-Roc.
The T-Roc Cabriolet is VW providing the SUV segment with a breath of fresh air. The car which was announced today ahead of its launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
The T-ROC is based on the Polo and it essentially a jacked-up Polo. It rides higher has some styling cues to makes it look more rugged. But in terms of engine line-up and interiors, it is all Polo.
Look at it as a coupe version of the T-Cross, VW's smallest SUV.
For the Cabriolet two engine options are available. A 1.0 three-cylinder turbo petrol with 85-kW and a 1.5 four-cylinder with 110-kW. Power goes through the front wheels via a six-speed manual. A 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox is available as an option.
Inside you can get smaller infotainment with old-school dials or just spend the cash and get the Digital Cockpit with an 8-inch infotainment system with 11.7-inch digital driver display.
Customisation is what the T-Roc is about and like the normal car, the cabriolet has a lot of options to choose from to make your car unique.
You can drop the soft top at speeds of up to 30-km/h and it takes just 9 seconds.
