THE new Jaguar F-Pace is plush and efficient, featuring a new sculpted bonnet with a wide power bulge and smoother surfaces, an enlarged grille with heritage logo-inspired diamond detailing, and a new front bumper with redesigned air intakes and dark mesh details.
Jaguar Design director Julian Thomson said the new model was dynamic and elegant on the road, representing a significant development in their design. He said the increased luxury and attention to detail with state of the art technology ensured the driver and passengers felt a real sense of occasion whenever they get into the vehicle.
The new F-PACE is available with the P400e plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain, latest four-cylinder and new in-line six-cylinder diesel Ingenium engines. All models feature intelligent all-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmissions.
The new engine line-up in South Africa consists of:
147kW 2,0-litre four-cylinder turbo, eight-speed automatic, AWD
221kW 3,0-litre six-cylinder turbo, eight-speed automatic, AWD
184kW 2,0-litre four-cylinder turbo, eight-speed automatic, AWD
297kW PHEV 2,0-litre four-cylinder turbo, eight-speed automatic, AWD
The new 2,0-litre four-cylinder PHEV model produces a combined 297kW and 640Nm from its petrol engine and 76kW electric motor. The advanced electric motor is powered by a 13,6kWh lithium-ion battery with an impressive 0-100km/h of 5,3 seconds.
When fully charged, the new P400e is capable of up to 53km of all-electric driving, enabling the new F-PACE PHEV to complete the average daily commute to and from work without a recharge.
