“I FIND pleasure in riding and am not crazy about speeding”.

This is how Sipho Lecogo (34) from Magogoe Tar Village in Mafikeng, North west expressed the joy he feels when riding his red Honda CBR Fireblade 1100cc.

His riding name is Mayweather, derived from his event company Sipho Mayweather, specialising in outdoor fridges, bars, trailers, toilets and transport.

Mayweather said he started riding to overcome his fear of riding.

A: 2018.

A: Early 2000.

Q: What’s its nickname?

A: Red Mamba.

Q: Why special about its colour?

A: It’s the centre of attraction.

Q: Is Red Mamba your first bike?

A: No, this is my second bike I also own Suzuki 1100CC.

Q: Would you allow anyone ride Red Mamba?

A: No, it has spiritual connection with me.

Q: What’s your dream bike?

A: Kawasaki ZX1400.

Q: What’s special about the riding suit?

A: It is expensive. It is personalised with my name and sparks pride. It is comfortable and very safe to ride with.

Q: Have you received a traffic fine?

A: No, I am very cautious and I don’t speed because I have son, Kamogelo Plaatjie, who is my pride and joy.

Q: Do you have a licence?

A: Yes.

Q: Do you think you are a safe rider?

A: Safe riding is about respecting the speed and sticking to the K53 and I am the best example of that.

Q: How far have you travelled?

A: Pietersburg, Lesotho and Joburg.

Q: What do you think about other road users.

A: Those who disrespect the rules of the road are insensitive towards other road users and traffic officers.

Some don’t even allow us a right of way.

This results in accidents on our roads.
