THE highly anticipated Hyundai hot hatch I30N just killed 7 generations of Golf heritage.
The I30N is expected to reach our shores in 2020, but has already been released in other countries.
Hyundai’s I30N hot hatch is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill that produces 202 kW and 353 Nm on tap.
While in standard form it produces 184 kW and 353 Nm.
The Golf 7 on the other hand produces 169kW from the TSI engine, transferring all the power to the wheels with a 6-speed DSG gearbox.
The GTI can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 6.4 seconds.
However, the Golf R might be the direct competitor for the I30N as it can unleash 228kW and 380Nm.
In a drag race between the GTI and the I30N, the Hyundai came out tops in three races.
