THIS week SunWheels speaks to Sifiso Mashele from zone 4 in Diepkloof, Soweto. Sifiso is also the owner of Biggs Driving school which operates in the area.
This business man’s inventory includes two trucks, a Golf and a Hyundai – but it’s the Hyundai that makes life easy for him because it’s the one most learner drivers prefer to drive.
Q: What car from your fleet do you want to tell us about today?
A: My 2006 Hyundai Atos.
Q: When did you buy it?
A: I bought it in 2006
Q: Do you have a driver’s licence?
A: I have had my licence for years.
Q: Why do you love this car?
A: It’s easy to maintain, light on fuel, spacious, not easy to steal and it can work over 10 hours a day without any stops while managing my workload.
Q: Why did you choose yellow?
A: I chose bright yellow because it is easy to see and identify which makes better business and driving sense to me.
Q: What are its best features?
A: The air con. It also moves much easier from a low gear to higher gears than other cars.
Q: Would you like to change anything?
A: No, I am happy to keep it as it is.
Q: Is it your dream car ?
A: No. My dream car is something else.
Q: How far have you travelled in it?
A: I have been to Durban.
Q: Who else can drive it?
A: Anyone. My friends and family but also student drivers.
Q: Do you have any traffic fines?
A: Not as far as I know. I always try hard to obey the road rules.
Q: What do you think of other road users?
A: I think most drivers are impatient which is why we having so many daily road accidents and deaths. Road users must learn to share the space with others and avoid speeding.
