MEET the daring new Audi A1 – the baby Audi that is hotness on four wheels!
The A1 will be available in a number of new colour options with some bling too.
It will come in three totally customisable trim levels. Optional extras include a number of striking alloy wheel designs.
Other features include LED headlights, S Line body kits, sportier seats, more potent sound systems and more safety features.
According to Audi, the second generation A1 is the same height than the older model but it is 6cm longer and 3cm wider. Thanks to a longer wheelbase it will have a bigger interior space while boot space has grown to 335 litres which increases to 1 090 litres when the rear seats are folded down.
The cabin was subjected to a major upgrade too regarding the latest technology and comfort features.
In typical Audi fashion the fit and finish will be superb. It has a 10,25 inch digital display on the dashboard with multifunction controls on the steering wheel.
Under the bonnet is the new A1 engine range which includes a 1,0 litre three cylinder, a 1,5 litre four-cylinder and a 2,0 litre four-cylinder engine.
Fitted to the engines are either a manual gearbox or seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
It also comes with three different suspension systems on offer. These include a regular sports suspension and a sports suspension with adjustable damping.
According to reports, Audi will launch the new A1 in South Africa after January. This is when local specification and prices will be released too. Better start saving – the A1 will surely become the new must-have compact hatch!
