THIS week, Sunwheels speaks to Mbulelo Ngxonono, a Joburg entrepreneur and bike lover.
Q: Do you have a licence?
A: Yes, I got it few years ago.
Q: What bike do you ride?
A: I ride two bikes: a Suzuki Boulevard and a BMW GS 1200 Adventure.
Q: Have you owned other bikes?
A: Yes, I have owned others before.
Q: When did you buy it?
A: I bought it in 2012
Q: What colour is your bike and why did you choose it?
A: My Boulevard is black and my GS is beige and black. I love black because it is beautiful.
Q: Have you got any traffic fines?
A: None that I am aware of.
Q: How often do you ride?
A: I ride almost daily.
Q: Tell us about your outfit?
A: I dress for the slide and not the weather.
Q: How far have you ridden?
A: I have been riding since 1985 so I have covered the whole country and some neighbouring countries too.
Q: Who else can ride your bikes?
A: Only the handful I trust.
Q: What is your dream bike?
A: I don’t have dream bikes anymore. Every new bike has some sort of technological improvement which changes my mind every time it is revealed.
Q: What do you think of other Mzansi road users?
A: Bikers have to ride everyone else’s vehicle too. Most motorists drive distracted by phones, food, makeup, booze or radios. We bikers have to anticipate these problems all the time. We can’t trust the drivers of other vehicles or we will be killed.
