Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

Iconic Italian car brand Alfa Romeo has launched its first ever SUV, the Stelvio, in South Africa! The new Stelvio will take on premium SUVs such as the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Jaguar F-Pace.

It is also a showcase of Italian style and top quality finishes.

It is named after the Stelvio Pass which is Italy’s highest mountain pass and is over 20 km in length and with more than 75 hairpin bends, has iconic status.

It features Alfa Romeo’s Q4 all-wheel drive system, and can be optionally equipped with mechanical locking rear differential.

The Stelvio’s proportions, with a length of 4,7m, height of 1,7 m and width of 2,2 m, express strength, dynamism and compactness.

Design, engineering and technology are all central to the new Stelvio, but its identity as a true Alfa Romeo derives from the beating heart under the bonnet.

It comes with 2,0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a power output of 206 kW and 400Nm of torque.

According to Alfa Romeo it will dash from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h.

Pricing starts from R810 000 and it comes with a three-year/100000 km warranty and a six-year/100 000km maintenance plan as standard.
