Mitsubishi has unveiled a limited edition of its evergreen ASX SUV with a range of additional equipment at no extra cost.
Based on the ASX GLX, the new ASX Sport, available in grey or white, boasts R30 000 worth of additional equipment at the same price as the base model.
As an ASX, the Sport already boasts a host of standard features such as daytime running lights, flexible seating and generous boot space as well as advanced passive and active safety technology, which includes seven airbags.
Adding a sportier look to go with the new name, the ASX Sport can be distinguished from other versions by the limited-edition Sport decal set, including carbon fibre inserts and strategically-placed black and orange strips.
Also, a set of glossy black mag wheels sets the ASX Sport apart from the rest of the line-up too. The wheels add to the sporty and bold look similar to that of Mitsubishi’s popular Triton Athlete bakkie.
The biggest addition to the ASX Sport is a new upgraded infotainment system. The factory-fitted system boasts a seven-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth and GPS, while offering Android Auto and Apple CarPlay too.
The interior also comes with leather upholstery with heated front seats and electrically adjustable driver seat. It has a panoramic sunroof, rear-view camera and a keyless system.
To distinguish the limited edition even more, there are also ASX Sport-branded carpets.
The ASX Sport comes with tried-and-tested 2,0-litre petrol engine with a five-speed manual gearbox and with the car’s 63-litre fuel tank, Mitsubishi claims that it offers a reach of around 800km on the open road on one full tank.
As with the rest of the ASX range, the Sport limited edition is covered by a three-year/100 000km manufacturer’s warranty and a five-year /90 000km service plan. The price of the GLX Sport is R399 995.
