TUMELO Seakamela from Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, said he took out a Telkom contract online on 19 February.

The deal was for a 64GB Huawei P smart with a free a gift. When the phone was delivered, it was not the gadget he had applied for and there was no gift included.

He called customer care. He was told they’d courier the correct phone and collect the one that was delivered within 72 hours.

But he still hasn’t received his phone, even though his bank account is being debited every month.


I spoke to Telkom about the matter.


The company apologised for delivering the wrong phone to the customer. They said they were careful about completing orders, but from time to time mistakes do happen.

They have cancelled the contract and have spoken to the customer to sort out the issue.
