THE FACTS

TSIETSI Mofokeng from Florida, Joburg, approached the CCMA in 2018 after he was retrenched.

He was assisted by an attorney appointed by LegalWise.

He was at the CCMA in April 2019 but has not received the outcome. He is in the dark about the case. His LegalWise cover also ended.

SOLUTION

The CCMA said Tsietsi’s referral was late and he had to apply for condonation.

Tsietsi did this and the case was set for 6 August last year. The commissioner granted the condonation.

Due to the employer having been absent on the day, a rescission was granted and the matter was set for 8 January. The outcome was that Tsietsi had to refer his case again and also apply for condonation. The was done. The case was set for 24 April but Tsietsi withdrew his matter. This means the case is over.
