THE FACTS

LORRAINE Phooko from Eden Park in Alberton, Ekurhuleni said her late husband worked for a furniture manufacturer from 1973 to 1994 but was never paid his provident fund.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to Constance Maake at the Furniture Bargaining Council.

SOLUTION

Maake confirmed that the late Lambert Phooko worked for Mood Creations. She said he received his provident fund benefits of R24 593,04. But there’s an unclaimed balance of R835,54. Maake said Lorraine could claim the balance.

She needs to send her husband’s ID, a death certificate and a letter of authority. They also want Lambert’s tax number on a Sars letterhead, a marriage certificate, proof of address and a bank statement.
