SAMUEL GOT HIS PAYOUT

accreditation

THE FACTS

SAMUEL Baloyi from Nwamankena Village in Giyani, Limpopo, said he is a former employee of the Gazankulu Development Corporation.

He said he started working there in 1991 and got retrenched in 1998.

He received benefit certificates each year during his time of employment, but when he got retrenched they did not receive any payments.

When he went to inquire at Sanlam he was told there were financial constraints and he would be notified, in writing, when all was in order.

But to date no communication has been forthcoming.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to Sanlam to investigate if any payments were due to Samuel.

SOLUTION

Jodi Muller from Sanlam said Samuel was a member of the corporation’s pension fund, but an amount of R45 819,98 was paid out in 1999.

There are no unclaimed benefits.
