PRINCE Ntimane from Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, said he took a loan from Standard Bank and was told the last payment would be in June 2019.

But the debit orders have continued past this date.

When he went to the bank to find out what the reason was, he was told the last payment would be at the end of July next year.

I spoke to Standard Bank to find out why the end date changed.

Ross Linstrom from the bank confirmed the original end date of the loan was, in fact, June. He said inconsistent repayments had extended the term of the loan.

Linstrom said it was important that payment agreement between a customer and bank be kept to avoid penalty fees.

Prince can contact the Banking Ombudsman to resolve the query.
