THE FACTS

PHILLIP Shingange from Alberton, Gauteng said in June he went to Vodacom in Alberton to renew his contract.

But he was told there had already been a renewal and a phone was provided as well.

Phillip said when he was shown the renewal information, the details were completely different to his.

Still paying the contract, he decided to call the SunDefender for urgent help.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to Vodacom to find out how Phillip’s problems could be solved.

SOLUTION

Avash Singh from Vodacom confirmed that Phillip had been a victim of fraud.

He said they have reversed the fraudulent upgrade.

They have also refunded all charges Phillip had to pay as a result.

“We have apologised to Phillip for the inconvenience caused,” Singh said.
