THE FACTS

NOMAKHAYA Nonyukela from Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni said she has a contract with Vodacom and her phone is insured with Cellsure.

The insurance has always been paid monthly. Then the phone had technical problems that needed to be fixed.

She took the phone to Vodacom for repairs, but she was told it could not be fixed because it had not been used for years. However, the insurance is up to date.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to Vinnie Santu at Vodacom, who promised to investigate.

SOLUTION

Santu said the client submitted the claim in July, but it was rejected according to Vodacom’s insurance policy. She said the last time Nomakhaya used the Alcatel tablet was in October 2016. The sim card was also used in a Samsung J5 between last year and this year. As a gesture of goodwill, however, Vodacom approved the customer’s claim.
