THE FACTS
Johannes Rafedile from Tsakane, Ekurhuleni, said he was a teacher at the department of education.
When he was dismissed on charges of misconduct, his attorney requested a copy of the case to prepare for trial.
But this was denied for reasons that were unclear to Johannes.
It’s been more than seven years since Johannes was dismissed.
He wanted to know what he could do if his case lapsed or how to apply for an extension.
WHAT I DID
I asked the department if records could be removed.
SOLUTION
Gauteng education spokesman Steve Mabona said there are no provisions to remove disciplinary records. I advised Johannes to speak to his attorney.
