THE FACTS

Phaladi Mampuru from Daveyton, Ekurhuleni said he had been applying for his late brother’s pension fund through an attorney since 2016.

His brother worked for South Rand Hospital in Rosettenville, Joburg from the early 1980s. Phaladi said he still hasn’t received the money and he hasn’t heard from the attorney.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to the Government Pensions Administration Agency to investigate if payment had been made.

SOLUTION

Katlego Tselapedi from the agency said according to their records, the member terminated his service before 1996 and the resignation benefit was paid by cheque to the employer on 2 September 1989. The applicant needs to make a follow-up call to the employer.
