THE FACTS

LUCAS Mahlangu from Benoni, Ekurhuleni, said his dad worked for Usizo Security, but his father passed away while Lucas was in jail.

After his release from prison, Lucas contacted the fund to claim for his father’s provident fund and submitted all the relevant documents.. He wasWhen he contacted the fund to check on the progress of his application he was told the money had been paid out to someone else, even though, according to him, he’s the only beneficiary. He came to the SunDefender to ask for help.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to the Private Sector Security Provident Fund to find out who the money was paid to.

SOLUTION

Sindiswa Pharologanyo from the fund said the death claim was paid to the deceased’s sister, according to the signed trustee resolution received.

The issue has been brought to the attention of the Claims Subcommittee.
