KGABO Malatji from Tembisa, Ekurhuleni said he was injured at work and couldn’t go back for almost two years.

When he went back he found that his company no longer existed.

He contacted the labour broker who assisted him to get the job.

He was told they no longer had any relations with the company.

Kgabo wants to know if he can still apply from the compensation fund, even though the company no longer exists.

Kgabo can still claim for compensation from the fund. However, the claim would be limited to medical expenses.

This means that he won’t be able to claim for loss of income since the company no longer exists, because confirmation of loss of income can’t be obtained from them.
