JOSEPH Mnguni from Alberton, Ekurhuleni said he had a Vodacom contract that was due to end in February last year.

He didn’t inform Vodacom that he wanted to cancel the contract and it continued past its final date. He was paying R100 for the contract but on 15 July he suddenly had R759 debited from his bank account. He said he contacted Vodacom and was told that he had upgraded his phone, resulting in the new amount being debited. Joseph said he never did an upgrade. He contacted SunDefender for help.

I spoke to Vodacom to investigate the problem.

Vodacom’s Vinnie Santu said all credits were processed on 11 September and Joseph’s bank account was credited on 14 September along with the balances payable on his invoice. Joseph has been refunded the extra money that was taken from his account.
