JOHANNES BELONGED TO A DIFFERENT FUND

accreditation

THE FACTS

JOHANNES Mkondwane from Etwatwa, Daveyton in Ekurhuleni worked for City Parks from 1984 until he retired in 2015.

He claimed for his pension money, but not his surplus funds.

Earlier this year he submitted his claim for the surplus funds, but did not get any communication regarding the status of his application. He came to the SunDefender.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to a Samwu official to investigate what was happening with Johannes’ application.

SOLUTION

Petunia Phakathi, a risk management and compliance officer, said Johannes was not a member of the Samwu national provident fund, but he contributed to the municipal gratuity fund.
