THE FACTS
GLORIA Monisi from Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni said her home was damaged when an Imperial truck dragged a pole onto her property after it got tangled in overhead cables.
She then claimed from Imperial, but was told it was Eskom’s responsibility to maintain its property and the utility was at fault for allowing cables to hang so low.
Gloria came to the Sun- Defender to ask for help.
WHAT I DID
I asked Eskom what Gloria should do.
SOLUTION
Gloria must get a quotation for the damage and make an affidavit stating exactly how her property was damaged.
She must take the documents to her nearest Eskom customer service office and lodge a claim. She will be given a reference number and Eskom will provide her with feedback after investigating.
