THE FACTS

DELANI Maseko from Moletsane, Soweto, had insurance with Prime Meridian.

In February he received a letter from underwriter Constantia Insurance cancelling insurance.

ADVICE

The letter he received says, in terms of the new Insurance Act, insurers can no longer provide life and non-life insurance under one licence.

Constantia is a non-life insurer while Delani’s insurance product is life insurance.

Prime Meridian can’t offer him cover. He may approach the long-term insurance ombudsman.
