THE FACTS

DAVID Pululu from Sebokeng, south of Joburg, said he was employed by the government from 1967 to 2003.

He worked in various departments and was once promoted to the position of senior admin clerk at the Sebokeng Magistrates Court.

David retired when he reached retirement age after 36 years of service.

He contacted the Government Pensions Administration Agency after he heard about redress money.

He submitted a claim along with all relevant supporting documents. But he has not received a response from the fund up to now.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to fund administrators to ask about the progress on his application.

Solution

Katlego Tselapedi from the agency said the body was only responsible for the payment of the redress claims and not the processing of the applications. David was advised to contact the Public Service Co-ordinating Bargaining Council on 012 644 8100 as it was the one responsible for that process.
