THE FACTS
DINEO MOSALLA from Dobsonville in Soweto is the daughter and only child of the late Selina Mosalla.
Her mum was employed at Rock Ridge Properties from 2006 until last year, when she passed away.
Dineo claimed for her UIF but was told she could not claim as she was over age, although she was still studying.
She submitted all the documents on time and was not satisfied with the response. She came to the SunDefender for assistance.
WHAT I DID
I spoke to the Department of Labour to look into the matter.
SOLUTION
Thabang Mahlangu from the department said the UIF death benefits claim for Selina was pre-approved in May.
Dineo should visit the department’s provincial office in Braamfontein, Joburg, for further help.
