BE PATIENT, MABEL

accreditation

THE FACTS

MABEL Thabethe from Meadowlands, Soweto said she was nominated as a beneficiary of her dead partner, Saul Rikhotso.

She said financial group Alexander Forbes told her there are unclaimed benefits available from OK Bazaars’ provident fund.

She has been submitting the relevant documents since 2007 but no payment has been made.

She came to the SunDefender for help.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to Alexander Forbes to investigate what the problem was.

SOLUTION

Senior complaints manager Audrey Rusten said they spoke to Mabel. Audrey said the OK Bazaars fund is under liquidation and they are awaiting approval from the Financial Services Board to claim. Once they have approval, which could take six months, the claims process will begin. They have told Mabel all this.
