THE FACTS

BEN Manoto from Sebokeng, south of Joburg, asked the SunDefender for help with his UIF claim.

He said when he applied for his funds in December last year he was only paid for December and January.

When he contacted the UIF office he was told the ID numbers he provided didn’t correspond with the details in the system.

He was advised to contact Home Affairs to get a verification document which he submitted to the department of labour in March.

He has still not been paid or provided with the status of his claim.

WHAT I DIDI spoke to the department to find out why Ben hadn’t been paid.

SOLUTION

Thabang Mahlangu of the UIF said Ben was only paid for June. The query was escalated earlier and the payment will be made during the week. He said he will call Ben and apologise for any problems caused by the Vanderbijlpark Department of Labour.
