Matthew 5:9 says: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
Peace is not an emotion. It is a spiritual virtue.
Galatians chapter 5 tells us that peace is a fruit of the spirit. This means it is not a spiritual attribute and comes from God.
It is likened to God’s DNA. Once you have peace you are then a true child of God.
Those who have peace within their spirit become peacemakers. Peacemakers pursue things which build up people.
Romans 14:19 says: “So we pursue things which make for peace and building up of one another.”
Peace rejoices in goodness and wellbeing. People have become greedy and selfish.
People in cities might not even know their neighbours, nor care if they are troubled.
Everyone is for himself and this contradicts the quality of peacemakers. Your neighbour refers to anyone within your reach.
This could be your family members, community, neighbours, colleagues and so forth.
It is a blessing to care for someone other than yourself. Peace brings forth joy, as stated in Proverbs 12:20: “Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but counsellors of peace have joy.”
Peace brings joy, and joy is the fruit of the spirit. Imagine a life full of peace and joy?
This is a stress-free life – no anxiety, no depression and no worries. This life is available to those who pursue peace.
Romans 12:18 gives advice: “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.”
There are people who are enemies of peace. Whenever they arrive in meetings people already know that trouble is here.
Wherever they are, trouble follows them. Whenever people laugh they become offended, suspecting those people are laughing at them.
Repent and choose to become a peacemaker.
TESTIMONIES FROM READERS
Dear Pastor Daniel
In March I called you on my way to Lothair, Mpumalanga, and asked you to pray for me to conceive.
We had tried for a baby for a long time, without success.
Pastor, you prayed for me over the phone and now I’m three months pregnant.
Praise the Lord and thank you, man of God, for the prayer.
God is wonderful. Hallelujah.
- Dear Pastor
Last year I sent you a prayer request for my daughter to find a job.
You prayed for her and she got a good job. Thank you.
May the Lord protect you and grant you more power. Amen.
