GOD created mankind so we could be fruitful. He said to Adam (Genesis 1:28): “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it.”
Fruitfulness means being productive or profitable. Success is a measure of fruitfulness, productivity and profitability.
Successful people are productive and profitable. It is possible to work hard and yet become unfruitful.
Peter once toiled the whole night but caught no fish (Luke 5:5). He worked hard but profited nothing.
The Bible talks about idle people and concludes that they will suffer hunger (Proverbs 19:15). Idleness does not mean lack of activity.
An idle car is the star whose engine is on. Although the engine of an idle car is running, the car remains in the same position.
An idle car makes the same noise as a moving car, yet remains at the same spot. It uses fuel but never progresses to the next position.
There are many people who are like an idle car. They are the busiest yet unproductive. They labour very hard yet are unprofitable. They make a lot of noise, a lot of sweating, but never yield results.
Many people, including the most educated and those working in elite offices, remain unfruitful. It is sad to work hard and gain nothing.
God wants every one of His people to be profitable. God gives grace to His people so they may profit.
Isaiah (48:17) says: “Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. I am the Lord thy God which teaches thee to profit.”
Unfruitfulness is a spirit and must be addressed. This spirit can manifest in several ways. It can affect couples through barrenness.
Abram toiled for 100 years but could not make Sarah pregnant until God intervened. May the Lord intervene in your life, too.
Hannah was unfruitful and she cried to the Lord and He intervened. When God intervenes, the results are always great. Peter toiled the whole night, and when Jesus appeared in the morning everything changed.
Are you going through unfruitfulness? Cry out to the Lord.
