MANY of us are familiar with self-help books that promise riches if the writer’s formula is followed, but what is it these men and women actually say?
Nedbank kicked off the first ever Game 7.
Game 7 brings 30 mainly young but professional entrepreneurs together to hear from legendary Nando’s founder and chief executive, Robbie Brozin.
What is Game 7?
In basketball, a game 7 series is when the top seven teams play one another to find the winner.
This is the time the best players must step up and fight for their place at the top.
As part of the initiative, young professionals spent time with Brozin, an inspiring leader of industry, who shared his advice for success.
- Resilience, grit and determination are key
- Surround yourself with good people
- Don’t copy others – do what you think is right
- Patience – it takes at least 10 years to create a sustainable business. “It took us 15 years to make Nando’s the success it is today,” Brozin said.
- Money finds money – find out what the core money earners of your business are
- Believe in your people – you will do better than our competitors if your staff is happy
- Develop a corporate philosophy your staff can trust.
Alan Shannon, head of relationship banking sales at Nedbank, said: “Young professionals aspire to become future leaders. We believe that initiatives such as Game 7 help young professionals learn from the giants of Mzansi business.”
Today, the wellknown flame grilled peri-peri chicken is served in some 1 200 restaurants in 23 countries, including Mzansi, United Kingdom, America, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Malaysia.
