INGREDIENTS
- One cup castor sugar
- Two cups plain flour, sifted
- One cup butter, melted
- One teaspoon vanilla extract
- One teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- One egg
- 100g to 200g chocolate chips
PREPARATION
- Add sugar and melted butter in bowl. Mix together.
- Sift flour, baking powder, vanilla and salt together. Add to sugar and butter. Add chocolate chips. Mix together by hand.
- Once cookie dough is formed, add egg and knead by hand.
- Spread some butter on baking tray. Take some dough, roll in ball and flatten to fat discs.
- Keep dough discs small – they spread out during baking. Keep dough discs apart or they stick together during baking.
- Place dough discs in oven and bake at 160°C – or at three in a gas stove – for 10 to 20 minutes. The bigger the cookies, the longer they need to cook. They’re ready when their edges are slightly golden.
