CAN you sit on your bum with your arms and legs in the air for longer than 10 seconds?

For some of you it is an easy as A-B-C, but not for others.

Tebogo “DJ Turbo” Monama and his younger sister Lerato Kumalo aim to make gym fun.

From Monday to Friday, 6pm to 7pm, the LT Fitness and Health Lifestyle Gym, based at Tegogo’s Villa Liza house, in Boksburg, runs people through different exercises.

From 7am to 8.30am on Saturdays, they do bootcamps at various Vosloorus parks and sport grounds.

DJ Turbo said gym should be enjoyable – and with summer coming, people need to start working on their bodies to get into shape for December.

“I always wanted to work out at a gym since I started bodybuilding a decade ago at home in Basothong, Vosloorus.

“When I moved into my own house, I decided to open a gym and my sister joined me.”

The gym is a big success – they have over 50 people joining their bootcamps on Saturdays.

“Most people who join our bootcamps battle with their weight and we work to help them control it.

“We want to start bootcamps as far afield as Soweto and Daveyton in the near futute.”

DJ Turbo said that while exercise helps people look better, it is the best way to avoid physical lifestyle problems.

He said being active has many benefits, physically and mentally.

If you get your body fit and healthy, you do the same for your mind.
