PRINCIPAL Victoria Ledwaba of Soshanguve High School has had her eyes set on Samukelo Sithole (18) since the beginning of last year.
She knew that the day the results were released, the school would celebrate his hard work.
And celebrating they indeed are – because Samukelo got six distinctions.
He aced English, mathematics, life orientation, accounting, life science and physical science.
Samukelo said he had been working hard since he was in grade 10.
“It really shows that hard work pays off,” he said.
He said he was grateful for the advice and help he received from his parents and teachers.
He was joined by three more top pupils from the school, and the four looked ecstatic standing next to their principal.
“They worked very hard throughout the year and they deserve the glory. They have never disappointed me in any way,” she said.
The second top pupil, Thabisile Mabena (17), has four distinctions in life orientation, accounting, business studies and economics. Although she expected seven distinctions, she was happy nonetheless.
Kaizer Makhubo (18) aced English, life orientation and life sciences and Nicky Maluleke (18) has distinctions in mathematics, life science and physical science.
