ARE you an illustrator or designer with talent and style?

If you feel you have the stuff, this is a competition for you to enter.

Number One Mageu wants young designers and illustrators to create an original design for their Number One Mageu banana packaging and stand a chance to win R10 000.

Aamina Shaik, Number One Mageu brand manager, says the winners get their designs made into a limited edition pack.

“We also run a competition with the Durban University of Technology where the winner can win an iPad and a three-day internship at Durban’s creative agency, The Hardy Boys. The winner will work with the Number One Mageu design team.”

She said top submissions get decided by a panel of judges and judged by Instagram followers.

Winners will be announced on 30 August at an exhibition in Durban.

Judge Kevin Parry hopes the designs celebrate Mzansi culture and heritage.

“There’s a wealth of creative talent out there. We want them to share that creativity.”
