The Young Community Shapers competition is happening again!

Entries for the 2018 Young Community Shapers competition is open for entries.

If you are between the ages of 16 and 26 years old, and running a valid and well established community project that benefits and empowers the community, the organisers would love to hear from you.

Young Community Shapers is looking for young community leaders to honour them for the positive impact they have on disadvantaged backgrounds.

The competition has been running for 18 years, and over this time, the organisers have been fortunate enough to meet amazing people and see how communities are being changed by bold youths.

If you would like to enter, you will need to fill in an entry form and write an essay of no more than 300 words about your project.

The essay must explain what your project is about and what it is doing for the community. The more specific you are in the essay, the better.

The winner of the Young Community Shapers project gets R100 000 towards their project to build and sustain the work that they are doing in their respective communities. The runner-up receives R30 000 and each of the other finalists gets R10 000.

The organisers are already busy going through the entries already received so please don't delay in writing and sending your entry in.

Email your entry form and the 300-word essay to [email protected].

They are looking forward to reading about how you are changing your community for the better. Entries close on 27 July.
