THE Kaizer Chiefs attack, led by Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly, who were once feared attacks in the PSL, has sent shivers into Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler.
Amakhosi will host The Citizens in a DStv Premiership clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday at 6pm.
Amakhosi are heading to this match, beaming confidence as they overcame their poor start to the season and climbed to second in the log standings.
The slow resurrection of the most feared attack in the league, “CBD”, made up of Leanardo Castro, Billiat, and Dolly, has sent a strong message to opponents.
Dolly is among the log top goalscorers this season with six goals, while much improved Billiat has found the back of the net four times. Castro, who recently recovered from a long team injury, is slowly finding his fit after missing the opening stages of the campaign.
With The Citizens having shaky defence, which saw them conceding two easy goals when they drew 2-2 with TS Galaxy last weekend, Tinkler is a worried man ahead of the clash.
“A game against Chiefs, as a coach I do not need to motivate my players,” Tinkler stated.
“They are motivated knowing they play against high profile team like Chiefs. We are coming from a disappointment a draw against TS Galaxy. Normally people would be happy with a draw but not us. I am disappointed how we considered goals against Galaxy we have to work on that.”
He added: “We managed to keep clean sheets against the best team in the league Mamelodi Sundowns. We have to go to Chiefs organized structurally. Consistency also becomes key, especially when you go to a game against Chiefs who have firepower upfront with Dolly, Billiat, (Bernard) Paker, and (Lebogang) Manyama scoring goals.
The Citizens are 10th in the log with 11 points from 11 matches. Tinkler said they would play scrappy football if push comes to shove in order to earn maximum points.
He said: “We have to go there with a lot of belief and sometimes we have to play ugly football to get points and that will be the lesson this week.“
