PERCY Tau has joined Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a season-long loan, Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns star joined the English Premiership side in a South African transfer record of R50 million, last month.
But there has been talk of plans to loan out the 24-year-old South African international being loaned out for regular game time and development for the rigours of European football.
“Percy is a talent we have brought to the club for the future, and this loan allows him to play regular senior football here in Europe,” said Development pathway manager David Weir.
“It is a significant investment for us, and we will be closely watching his progress with Union and monitoring his development over the season.”
Tau, winner of the 2016 Caf Champions League, is the reigning PSL Player of the Season.
He has also has two Absa Premiership and the Caf Super Cup medals.
