MAMELODI Sundowns have begin bolstering their squad ahead of the new season with the signing of a South American striker Mauricio Affonso.
Affonso joins The Brazilians from Peruvian club Alianza Lima.
The 27-year-old lanky striker join the nine time Absa Premiership champions with an impressive goalscoring record for Lima, scoring 19 times in 39 appearances.
Affonso joins fellow South Americans Ricardo Nascimento, Jose Ali Meza and Gaston Sirino at the club.
The 1.92 m long striker started his career in Uruguay with Racing Club de Montevideo, before stints in Saudi Arabia, Argentina and Peru.
